A Cargo Bike That Goes Anywhere
FOLDEE combines the carrying ability of a cargo bike with the freedom of a folding bike.
Designed and developed in Melbourne, it carries people, groceries, work gear and everything in between - then can fold down when it’s time to store, transport or travel.
The Story
FOLDEE grew from founder and industrial designer Tim Collins’ lifelong obsession with bikes.
The idea started with a simple observation: cargo bikes are incredibly useful, but they’re big. Hard to store, difficult to transport and often impractical when the ride is over.
Tim began wondering whether a proper cargo bike could carry serious loads, ride beautifully and still fold to fit into everyday life.
Early workshop experiments gradually evolved — with support from LOOP Cycles — into a completely new folding cargo bike built around strength, simplicity and portability.
FOLDEE remains proudly small and design-led, developed through real-world riding, testing and constant refinement.

A Note from the Founder
I’ve spent most of my life around bikes — riding them, delivering on them, building them, fixing them and, probably more than anything, obsessing over them.
FOLDEE started as a personal design experiment. I wanted to challenge the idea that a cargo bike had to be a large, awkward object that was difficult to store or take anywhere.
The first prototype was built in a Melbourne workshop using whatever parts I could get my hands on. It wasn’t particularly refined, but it proved the idea could work.
Since then, FOLDEE has been a process of designing, riding, breaking things, changing things and making them better. That process continues today.
I’m an industrial designer, so I’ve always been interested not just in how things look, but in how they work, how they’re made and how they fit into people’s lives. FOLDEE brings all of those things together.
It’s still a small project, and I like it that way. It means we can keep experimenting, keep improving and build something a little different.
